This is my new series of posts, which is similar to my Evernote archives of posts that I like but I also want to share with anyone interested. As always, the topics mostly come from my twitter feed but I know I am too spammy to follow, so no hard feelings if you decided to just follow my blog.

If you want to share some of your own content, or ideas or weekly topics to discuss I would prefer to contact me on twitter, but you could just comment at the end of the article.
So, no more spamming. We are diving into the articles of the week!

We have to spend at least an hour each week on our Serverless Education

This is an introduction to serverless architecture for entrepreneurs, innovators, consultants, anyone working on building a product which uses those magic light screens in our hands or on our desks.
Serverless can be difficult to understand, it’s awash with words such as PaaS, IaaS, FaaS, or containerization. You shouldn’t have to have five Wikipedia tabs open to understanding whether one of the most important developments in cloud computing is a viable option for your next app.

 AI Updates and News

Thinking About the Future of AI?
So do I and so does Gideon and this is what he mainly discusses this week.
I really liked his quote from Bruce E. Pease, which I want to share here:
I spent a career in intelligence learning the business of forecasting and warning, and I teach those things today. I learned that warning is easier than forecasting—usually you warn of vulnerabilities and possibilities, but you forecast likelihoods. Likelihoods are much harder to determine. On forecasting, I learned the hard way to be very humble. I learned that the word “probably” is overused…and the words “almost certainly” are rarely deserved when we are talking about anything over the horizon.

This Week in OpenAPI/Swagger news

This week’s edition of Swagger Spotlight is a roundup of fresh content from around the web from individuals that are building APIs with the OpenAPI Specification and Swagger tools. This week, Thomas Pollet walks you through how to use his project on GitHub to automatically generate OAS specifications and Swagger UI documentation with Python. Then a second article walks the reader through how to user Swagger UI for API testing. Another interesting read from Nikolaos Georgiou talks about how to use Swagger tools and OAS to build a REST API with Java and Spring Boot. He focuses on using Swagger Codegen to build out his API in Spring.

Ansible, Docker and other IaaS news

Want to standardize and automate your whole Docker Swarm management? Are you inspired by our article Creating a High-Availability Docker Swarm on AWS and now wish to reduce the repetition every time you need a swarm? I know I do!! ( This is a promise for more ansible articles to follow )
Well, we’ve got you covered with the help of Ansible. In the following article, the author leads you through an Ansible playbook that installs a fresh version of Docker, establishes a node as your Docker Swarm manager, and adds additional managers and workers to your swarm until you have a high-availability cluster. Furthermore, the process creates a default Docker network to enable the nodes to communicate properly.
